At 2.25pm on March 30th, 1981, a would-be assassin named John Hinckley fired 6 shots at President Ronald Reagan as he left the Hilton Hotel in Washington DC, although three members of the entourage were seriously injured, it seemed the President had made a lucky escape. Within twenty minutes Ronald Reagan would be fighting for his life – a bullet lodged next to his heart.
