Imagine the excitement inspired by the World Cup, World Series and Formula One Racing.  Combine them into one, add the Pallio and you’re just beginning to understand what a day at the Roman Races was like.  It was the sport that ruled the Empire.  There was no sport bigger.  On attendance figures alone, it was five times more popular than gladiator fights.

In Chariot Race four volunteers take on the challenge of participating in a modern recreation of this legendary event.  We follow their progress towards the big race day, unlocking the history of the Empire’s favourite sport along the way.
