Tamzin Outhwaite joins Dennis Waterman, Denis Lawson and Nicholas Lyndhurst in series 10 of BBC One’s hit drama New Tricks.  As the new boss of UCOS, DCI Sacha Millard will need to use all her policing experience to manage her team of unconventional ex-coppers reinvestigating the Met’s unsolved crimes.  Strong and not afraid to confront a situation will Millard let the boys continue to get away with their unorthodox methods or will she prove to be more than a match for them?

Tamzin Outhwaite, who has had leading roles in many successful British television dramas including EastEnders, The Fixer and Hotel Babylon says: “I’m delighted to be joining the cast at such an exciting time – I’ve been a huge fan of the show for years - and can’t wait to be working with the amazing cast and crew.”

Richard Burrell, Executive Producer Wall to Wall says: “Wall to Wall are thrilled that Tamzin Outhwaite is joining New Tricks as DCI Sacha Millard – the new boss of UCOS.  Having another popular and talented actress to lead the team is fantastic for us and the viewing public.  The combination of Tamzin, Dennis Waterman, Denis Lawson and Nicholas Lyndhurst ensures that the audience will continue to enjoy the antics of UCOS as they enter their second decade of pursuing justice for the victims of unsolved crimes in their own inimitable way.”

The tenth 10-part series of New Tricks began filming last year with a special two part opening episode set in Gibraltar and is currently filming on location in London due for transmission on BBC1 later this year.

Executive Producer for the BBC, Polly Hill, adds: “We realise how well loved New Tricks is, so we are thrilled that Tamzin is going to be joining the cast.  We are sure the New Tricks audience will enjoy seeing Tamzin taking charge of the UCOS team and her arrival completes a great new cast for the show”.

New Tricks is made by Wall to Wall Television (part of Shed Media Group), executive produced by Richard Burrell for Wall to Wall and Polly Hill for BBC One and produced by Tom Mullens.  New Tricks was recommissioned by Danny Cohen, Controller, BBC One and Ben Stephenson, Controller BBC Drama Commissioning.
