Classic genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are? returns to BBC One in August for its ninth series, delving into the ancestry of some of the UK’s best known faces.  Produced by Wall to Wall (a Shed Media company), the new series of Who Do You Think You Are? sees ten celebrities embark on intense personal journeys to discover their families’ pasts.

Who Do You Think You Are? continues to make compelling genealogical discoveries which reveal the hidden family histories of the nation’s most renowned celebrities.  Each film opens the door on their personal history allowing viewers to share the highs and lows of their family trees.

Eurythmics singer and political activist, Annie Lennox’s episode uncovers an extraordinary tale of tangled family relationships, revealing dark tales of illegitimacy and poverty.  On her journey she also discovers the humiliation her unmarried great great grandmother suffered before the Scottish church.

Sir Patrick Stewart’s image of his late father is dominated by memories of domestic abuse.  In this deeply personal and moving film, Patrick investigates his father’s extraordinary war career and discovers the shocking impact it had on his character.

Wall to Wall’s ninth series brings together a high profile line up which includes Doctor Who’s River Song Alex Kingston, Coronation Street’s longest serving cast member Bill Roache, celebrated actress Celia Imrie, MasterChef Gregg Wallace, actor and comedian Hugh Dennis, footballer turned pundit John Barnes, stand-up comedian John Bishop and television and West End actress Samantha Womack.
