New Tricks star Amanda Redman, who has helped train dozens of young actors at a school based in West London which she set up, has been made an MBE in the Queen's birthday honours.

Best known for her role as Sandra Pullman in Wall to Wall's crime drama New Tricks, she has also helped train dozens of young actors at the Artists Theatre School.  She has described the school, based in Ealing, where she lives and its young pupils as "a kind of surrogate family".
