Executive producer Emily Shields will head up Wall to Wall West, which opened its doors yesterday (4 July).
Shields re-joined the Warner Bros Television Productions UK indie in October 2016 following a sabbatical in which she travelled the world. Her credits include the Back In Time franchise, The Secret History of Our Streets and factual entertainment formats Supernanny and Faking it.
Wall to Wall chief executive officer Leanne Klein said: “Emily is a brilliant creative executive and is the perfect person to continue the Wall to Wall tradition of making high quality, fascinating and entertaining series from our new West Country base.”
Wall To Wall West will initially focus on factual programming, with a longer-term plan to expand into drama and entertainment.
The Bristol division has already secured The Sweet Makers, a 3 x 60-minute series for BBC2 about the history of sugar, while it will also take charge of the channel’s Back In Time for Dinner and five episodes of the next two series of BBC1’s Who Do You Think You Are?.
In total the company has around 25 hours of primetime factual programming set to be made from the new office.
Klein said: “I spent much of my early career working here and I very much look forward to meeting and re-connecting with the talent based in the region.”
